I did it too … my biggest gripe was that at least two categories (anti-spyware and media players) totally ignored widely used apps like SAS, MBAM, Winamp, etc.
Even adding an entry along the lines of “other” (or for that matter, also “none”) would have given you much more accurate results.
There are many anomalies like that in the different categories and for that reason I wouldn’t enter anything as it would skew any results if the more popular applications aren’t even included.
Not is there a column to effectively vote against a product, e.g. tried it, never again, etc.
I did it for you to…it didn’t even take but a few mins to help him out so I can’t see why the big deal and don’t see why it is considered spam if you don’t want to help why not ignore it?
Remember the saying you reap what you sow? That’s only my two cents now it probably will get deleted ;D
This is not spam, IMO, but a valid request for a survey for personal/educational use.
I don’t have any problem with that at all.
I have a problem with the survey, though. You’re doing a Masters’, and using such a narrow choice of applications. I can’t support that.
Comments as made above (such as a lot of apps not included; no “other” or “never again” or “like it a lot” choices.)
I’ve tried almost everything on that list. There is nowhere to indicate a satisfaction rating.
So, sorry, I did not complete the survey.
Broaden the parameters, make it meaningful, I will gladly do it.
Heard of the statement “lies, lies, and damned statistics.”?
I do not think of this as spam neither but, as others have mentioned, the field of entries is too restrictive to give meaningful results. I took the survey anyway.
Spam. The identical message was posted to at least three other forums. The mozillazine forums mods have already locked two of the topics started with this message.
