I have a new Toshiba L500 laptop with 3G of ram, with Windows 7 OS…I am using Internet Explorer 8…I removed Norton anitvirus after the 30 day trial period and downloaded Avast 4.8 Home…it ran fine for several days but I booted up and when the desktop came up, the hourglass just stayed and stayed, you could move the cursor but you couldn’t click on anything or go any further…I waited, thinking it would finally finish whatever it was doing, but it never did…I waited, literally 15 minutes…I manually turned it off and booted up again with the same results…I rebooted in SAfe Mode and removed Avast and then my computer worked fine…I downloaded Avast again from your site, the English one that is bigger than CNet’s…everything worked fine again for a few days until this morning when the same thing happened again…once again I had to remove Avast to get the computer to complete boot up and function…so right now I’m running without a virus protection…any idea why Avast is causing me this problem and what can I do to fix it…??
Thanks Omid, it was messing with my ftp link structure, it used to allow direct ftp links, now it tries yo wrap a sodding url tag round it (fixed original link).
