Frequent virus Chrome redirection popups

Hello, I think my computer is infected, but do not know how to handle it.

I am using a personal computer for gaming, writing and studying mostly. (I noticed that in another thread, it was relevant whether it was a private or a business pc).

I have very little experience using these forums, so sorry if I don’t attach enough things. If you need me to attach more things, which I probably do, let me know.

I’m using Avast Free Antivirus (not Malwarebytes atm) and it pops up every once in a while, saying that Google Chrome (chrome.exe) attempts to redirect to some link, always a variation of the this link:

Here’s what it looks like:

It says that either URL:Mal or URL:Mal2 is doing this redirection.

I’ll attach as properly as possible

EDIT: Apparently I wasn’t allowed to attach I think. I’ll try in a second post.

EDIT EDIT: OK, I apparently hadn’t finished aswMBR scan. I’ll post the attachment in a reply as soon as I’m done.

Thanks for all your help and patience.

Attach the log files to your next post.

I have the same problem. Perhaps it’s false positive?

topolowaty,

if you want help please start your own topic and provide the log files.

This is not a false positive.
It is a IP block for good reasons.

False Positive that was fixed earlier today with a Virus Definition update. Other issues than this one will need logs to verify the problem(s). Thanks for the quick response, Avast Team!

Checked the link and read the responses - I’m sorry, I’m asking to be 100% clear, so it was just a false positive? I’m asking because Malwarebytes found 5 potentially threatening files that I’ve quarantined. I’m sorry if I’m dense, I just want to be sure.

(attaching scan files here, just finished all the scans.)
