I posted this question earlier but it never showed up on the forum. Guess I’ll try it again.
Using Toshiba 64-bit laptop, running Windows 10 Home, 8gb memory, 1T hard drive
I had so many problems after the last update to Avast Free that I decided maybe I should Uninstall it and Reinstall it. Big mistake! Now it won’t install at all. So I’ve gone from the frying pan into the fire. I’ve been fighting this since yesterday. It’s not the way I wanted to spend my weekend.
I downloaded Avast Free from the Avast website and it downloaded with no problems although it took over two hours to download it. That’s a long time for six MB. I’ve re-downloaded it twice with the same result. It takes about 45 minutes to run the install and then it fails because of errors. I am running the install as an Administrator.
I attached a txt file showing the log file from the last install. I hope someone has some ideas of things to try, because I’m fresh out. Out of patience too. This should not be this difficult.
