I’ve been writing for more than one hour and the session has expired losing everything i wrote >:(:'(>:(, so i will not write everything again, i will do in comanche. In conclusion i was using MS Outlook with another antivirus. I changed to thunderbird and installed avast! because ALWIL says it works with all the e-mail clients. Run e-mail protection wizard. Select manual. then I don’t use Outlook. in the e-mail account selection there is nothing to select, so i change avast4.ini and thunderbird accounts setting in my four accounts as described in the help. click next, next again and the service starts. send a test message to my three POP accounts and my IMAP account. receive the message as empty as i sent. Avast! didn’t put the clean label. Why?
sanchico, welcome to avast forums.
I think the best you can do is download the version 4.5 Beta because it uses a new mail detection that will work automatically with Thunderbird.

I think MS Outlook should be working… Am I right?
Do you use XP or Windows 98/Me?
Do you use any spam killer application?
The link seems to be wrong, it talks about 16 bit programs and service pack 2.
Let’s try version 4.5 BETA 8). Must I uninstall avast 4.1?
I use windows XP pro but without service pack 2.
The splash screen appear when outlook is started, and it has detected a virus!, but I still can’t see the avast lines in the body of the messages
Just look at http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=11;action=display;threadid=8044;start=0 for instructions on how to upgrade to 4.5 beta
And in the thread Technical mentioned, there is a post from me pointing you to the upgrade instructions. ;D
Thanks Eddy for correcting me
