Smart scan runs, but every time I run full system scan (48 hours+), it stays stuck on 30%. I’ve uninstalled / reinstalled and it doesn’t help. Its extremely frustrating because I pay for a product that is not working. Google is full of unanswered full scan gets stuck at x percent. I am hoping someone here has an answer that can help me!
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
- Which version…?
- OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
- Other security related software installed…?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?
I was running Avast Premier. Uninstalled and installed the free. See photo below for update info (all current).
Avast is the only security software I have had on this computer. This whole thing started maybe 4-5 months ago and I am finally addressing the issue because I need to do a full scan.

Repair Avast:
- Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
- Click on ‘Repair’.
- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.
Still stuck at 30%. I only have a month left of subscription anyways so I will just let it run out and find a new security system. I’ve put in too many hours and I have read on a lot of forums people have the same issue and Avast has not been any help. Thank you for your suggestions though
