Full Scan Problem

I’ve been using AVAST for a few months, satisfactorily. Just two, related, questions…

  1. I run a weekly full scan. At first all went well. The last couple of scans have shown up:“Error: Archive is password protected” on several files. How can I arrange for AVAST to get access to these files, assuming it is desirable to do so?

  2. I can’t see any way of setting up an automatic scheduling of the weekly full scan, referred to above. I have to initiate each scan manually. Am I missing something?

You can’t get access to these files, but it’s nothing to worry about.

  1. avast! cannot know the password to the archives, so it will not be able to scan it. avast is just reporting that to you.

  2. Open avast → Scan now → Find “Full System Scan” → Click “More details” to expand it → Click “settings” → “Scheduling” tab
