FYI

I ran across a website, that I believe is full of a variety of trojans. That website, is emp3world.com. I found this out by accident as I was looking for information on an Indie music group that at one time was on MP3.com.

I found the site, via google. Google is clean. The problem hit when I clicked on the link FROM the google page. Avast caught it and it went dierectly to the vault, do not pass go, do not collect information, go directly to jail. Cool, thank you Avast.

I emailed Google about this, to inform them they have a link to a web site full of viruses and trojans. They are aware of this problem.

I tried to contact the webmaster of this site. Trojan and viruse city big time. Before I got out of the site, I had over 20 trojans in my vault, all from this one site. Thank you again, Avast. Since that idea failed, my next action, is to get this site either cleaned up or taken out.

My campaign started with a visit to my local congresspersons office yesterday. Who will be next, let’s see, oh yeah, the FTC, FCC, Washington, some high ranking friends in the Pentagon, and anyone else that will listen and has the power to do something about that web site.

A Note To Avast: any help you could give me, or if you know how to take that website out, please let me know. I take it personally, when I’m innocently looking for information and get attacked. And this was an attack of major porportions. Pass this information on to other antivirus sites. Innocent information seekers are going to get hit hard. An accident waiting to happen is what that site is. You got the information the Avast prog on my machine sent you. What can be done? Either post here or email me, you got my addy.

SBehr, New Mexico.

Google cannot do much against that. Its search spiders just collect pages, they cannot control content. Although i don’t quiet get your post…

Google is NOT at fault here. Google is fine, they explained they could not do anything about this. They did tell me where to send the information, and I did that. I sent the information about that web site, to the FBI. They are the ones, along with other agencies, that check these things out.

I don’t like the idea that I was just looking for information, and that website, attacked me, when I clicked on the link. I couldn’t even get to the webmaster email on that page.

I am writer, and I do a lot of research on the web. In the 10 years that’s I’ve been researching on the web, this is the first time I’ve run across a web site, that attacks like this one did. Just clicking on the link, or just by opening the website page, you get hit with win32trojan.exe and then there’s the JSISTBARTRJ.exe that you need to watch out for. Don’t click on anything else on that page or you’ll get some more trojans and who knows what else. It also messes up your registry. Not a user friendly site for sure.

I got lucky, someone else will not be so lucky if they hit that page.

Again I say thank you Avast, you saved my machine from I don’t know what else.

Yeah, well it depends on the type of website. Such malware is usually encountered on crack/warez sites and other sites containing mature content (porn).
I have never encountered malware on other pages AFAIK.

This is really the most common situation. Who wants porn, founds malware :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, I understand about the maleware on the adult sites and such, I really do. I write what most people can’t even think of, or imagine in their wildest dreams. I was searching for contact information for the group Ghosts In The Machine. I was attacked, an unprovoked attack, by just clicking a link looking for information. That is not right.

And yes, I am blowing off steam here. I am angry about this, and I’m going to do something about it. Websites like that are illegal.

Trust me,you won’t be able to do much. Even if you manage to take off 10 or even 50 pages thats nothing compared to entire WWW and new pages coming up every day.
