General Proceedures

I have several copies of Avast Prof on my several computers. I am very unknowledgeable about most computerize, etc.

I had difficulty with the copy on a new Laptop which for unknown reasons had lost the “blue ball” on the task bar. I had had the license since 24 Dec. After trying my best to find an answer here, and spending goodness knows, some time over the last several days, I finally reinstalled the Avast-pro and put in the Licensed key. It seems to be working fine.

I am writing this to be certain that this is the standard operating procedure for obtaining “technical help”?

Thanks

Your problem could also be on the avast4 forum. General one is, somehow, not all related to avast.
Does that computer work ok now?

Welcome to avast forums.

Yes, it also did before hand. I had tried to use the Met Opera “Met Player”. This essentially is a for rent movie sight. I could not get this to work properly despite having enough power in this Dell Latitude E6400. I did follow their advice and after I had signed into the sight temporarily disabled the Avast to attempt increase in processor speed. That made no difference, but seems like it should have re-booted correctly when I turned the computer on.

Thanks for help.

Hi Malcolm,

this site is pretty useful for most problems and is a good source of “technical help” for avast.

However, if you would prefer to contact Avast’s actual support team, you could use their support portal located here: http://support.avast.com/

I find that they are fairly quick with responses (within 24 hours) although I’ve only asked them one question so far. The rest of my questions have been answered here.

Thanks very much. I am pretty inept and this business of the forum, but I finally got what I needed.
Apprectiation,
Malcolm Cole
