I noticed a few postings about this problem in the past.
I just had the same thing happen again today and the crash report screen said there is a solution available.
The update to fix the problem is: Update for Windows XP (KB894391)

I for one never mind anything being reposted. Sometimes takes several times for me to get it. ??? or be reminded of it.

Anyway I had downloaded the patch or fix in mid May and it is still siting on my desktop. I look at it every once in awhile, but am still concerned MS is still testing it.
I know the flaw is still there as I get the Error Message on rare occasions.
Getting Up Courage to install. 
Seemed to work fine.
Edit: Yes, I see what I did now: I missed page two of the other thread when I posted there. :-[
