Germany Claims the NSA Has Access to Every Windows 8 Computer

Now if this stuff get confirmed, is very bad :-\

The NSA has access to any computer regardless of the Windows OS or other OS on the computer.
With a court order any computer can be confiscated.
I’d need to see some pretty extensive proof as to a back door access in Windows 8 before I’ll allow that claim to fly.

Well yes that’s true, I also wont this thing to be confirmed or infirmed. Ok in this day I know the online privacy doesn’t exist, but at least the OS(in this case W8 or W8.1) to keep my personal data private with out any leak or worst with back door pre installed.

If such a backdoor exists in Windows 8, you can bet the farm that it also exists in Windows 7, Vista, and XP. As well as in all Mac OS versions. They are not solving anything by banning Win 8. I have seen other actions by the German Gov’t that I have considered to be ridiculous before this one.

Well they only could have done that via cooperation from Silicon Valley through a AMD and Intel chip backdoor. From what version chip this has been achieved probably won’t be revealed, as the speculation on it goes on: http://wccftech.com/intel-possibly-amd-chips-permanent-backdoors-planted-nsa/
Some technical experts say that because of the nature of the encryption chip code the whole idea of an existing back door is very unlikely.
Insofar as the MS update process plays a role in this back dooring has to be seen, but it is not very plausible. Anyway with the ongoing surveillance it is a good advice to users to assume that everything one does in private on the Internet should actually be considered as uttered in public. Guys and gals we’re in this together and speculation has not brought much. The innocence of the common user as before the so-called revelations were leaked won’t return. This the more so as the real backbone of the Internet is held and maintained by the US of A,

They are now backing down from the original claim.

i guess those NSA guys will get very bored when they look true my stuff …

that’s why Chinese gov is using own version of Linux OS on theirs own variant of kernel …

any modern gov, fearing about it’s secrets would use Linux or FreeBSD based operating system and have control over the kernel source …

even if you had access to Windows source, who can warrant it’s not rigged with hidden backdoors anyway … too complex to be sure

I Guess if this is true then by now they can resurrect huge amount of private and non-private sensitive data from government as well as consumer machines and huge losses and privacy invasion would have surely been a case.I guess they do this to scare away people from windows ;D

I will not fear anything and just move on because their claims and remarks are getting ridiculous and on the other hand we have no backing up of their statements yet.

Nevertheless, the amount of bad guys is already getting worst as years pass and now this NSA crap is going to make it even bad unless they have ever tried using it against the bad boys ::slight_smile:

If the above is truth, malware should have been gone by now :o

Well sometimes one may full realize that one does not have zilch of privacy any longer. Just walking down the street in a Mideuropean town to-day and a mobile phone message shows up that in the street where we are at that very moment we are in front of a mobile phone provider point where we can load our pre-paid phone. At that very moment you realize how invasive geo-localization has become and also that that privacy invasion will come to influence all aspects of your modern digital life whether you like it or not. Who could have thought that modern day governments and big commerce alike could have used Orwell’s tome “1984” as a sort of manual and tutorial. It is already here technically better and more omnipresent as Orwell could have foreseen it,
