I just updated the VPD files avast home edition 4.7.871 to 0633-0 and I got a Win32:Rbot-BXK [Trj] message for GetRight 5.0.2.0 (win2000sp4 all updates) when I tried to run it. I am using this from July 03 without any problems. I am also using Avast for about a year and it is the first time that I got this message. Is it a false alarm? Avast did not find anything else with a standard scan.
Submit the file to JOTTI and see what it says.
ps:
Things like this have been asked/answered/explained many times before on this webboard.
Please use the search option on this board before asking.
That way you don’t have to wait before someone answers and it prevents polution of the board.
Sorry for not checking first. It was my first post and I didn’t know about these engines.
It is probably a false alarm according to Jotti and VirusTotal … only avast detects it.
I agree that it is likely a false alert.
In cases like that it is “standard” procedure to submit the file in a password protected zip to virus@avast.com
Mention in the message why you think it is a false positive and ofcourse the password for the zip.
