I am running avast! Premier on an Windows 7 Acer Aspire and avast! keeps giving me frequent repeated notifications that one of three different threats are being blocked. The process is always reported as being Mozilla Firefox and the three objects being blocked are:
optprobrowser.info/get/,
optoproweb.info/get/, or
optprosurfing.info/get/.
the “attacks” don’t seem to do any damage as follow-up scans find nothing, but it is irritating. Are these false positives, or do I have a real threat?
Thanks in advance for any assistance in solving this issue,
Got something similar 3 months ago with av8. What I did was Mozilla > Tools > Options > Privacy > Remove individual cookies > Remove all cookies > ok … Then I rebooted computer . That fixed the problem. I hope it works for you
Well, I don’t want to jinx things, but between following your suggestions, rebooting and then disabling some plugins that avast’s Browser Cleanup suddenly suggested, I have had no recurrences of the optpro…info.com “attacks”. If it comes back I’ll let y’all know, but otherwise thanks for the suggestions.
