I am already an Avast customer, and wanted to purchase another license for a second Win10 Machine. I’ve installed Free Antivirus first and started upgrading to Internet Security for a year. After firstly entering my name into the Avast In-App-Purchasing dialogue, and after entering my credentials to PayPal, I get a very strange “Javascript Confirm”-Message that reads:
“Is it OK to leave/reload this page?” which I can confirm with OK or Cancel.
No matter which of these two I choose, the Payment-Screen in the background (which until then had the rotating PayPal-ring around that lock) becomes plain white, and won’t shut without shutting down all Avast services/processes.
This is quite intimidating, because I’ve already entered my credentials, as mentioned before. I get this exact behaviour from 2 different machines, both Win10 Home Premium, one of which has been newly installed only a few weeks ago and has an Avast Internet Security Suite up and running already.
I’ve locked down my PayPal account as of now. Searches for this message on the interwebz have been quite underwhelming in terms of information provided.
Has anyone got an idea what to do, or did anybody else encounter this before?
So do you confirm the Java prompt is “your” prompt and not some other people who just stole our Paypal passwords?
I have the exact same problem and posted about it in another thread before finding this thread.
If using the Upgrade button in the menu, will that still give me a chance to take you up on the offer to try out Avast Internet Security for free for 60 days?
I found posting here a better option since more people have the same issue and would be interested in a response as much as I would but also since Avast staff already posted in this thread.
Posting here doesn’t guarantee getting your problem directly to the right people at Avast.
Using what was suggested by Asyn would make sure it does. Unless, you aren’t really interested in getting this to the right people ???
Of course I want the issue handled by the right people but again…since someone from Avast staff already posted in here saying they are aware of the issue I find it strange why this person after that post becomes all silent when there are multiple people waiting for a definite answer and solution to this issue.
