Getting the "Package is Broken" message

I just started getting the “Package is Broken” message the last few days - every time I try to update.

Yes, I did renew my registration and put the new code in. It says my updates expire in 2007. I also run Kerio Personal Firewall - but have it disabled to eliminate it as the cause of the problem.

I’d paste the error, but for some reason, I can’t copy it to the clipboard.

I’ve also tried to do a “repair” of Avast by uninstalling it and choosing repair. I get a different error message: Error processing packages, please use full update.

I then tried using the “update” option in the uninstall and get this error: There was an error while changing the product configuration

FYI, I have gotten a couple blue screen and memory dumps the last couple days.
avast! version 4.7 Home Edition

Suggestions?

By ‘full update’ it means to download whole setupXXX.exe, it seems that some *.vpu files are missing or broken so the incremental updating is not possible. Simply download and run the installer. This problem is rather rare, though.

Thanks.

I did a complete install and it’s now working.
