Normaly there should be only the latest virus definitions in this folder (and some streaming updates), definitely not more than 100MB of data. If you have several GB of data there, than there is something wrong on your system.
Do you have the latest program version? Are there any messages in the system log file? Are there some crash reports in the Console? Did you try to reboot the system (several times)?
I checked it and it dropped down to 388mb sometimes since I last looked.
Not sure what happened there but it used to be huge. 388mb still seems a bit large though.
Temporary there may be two (or even more) virus definitions folders when a scan is running with the old VPS (new scans are always started with the latest VPS). Can you please provide the output of “ls -l” of the vps9 folder? Is there something interesting in the system log file?
