after using norton antivirus for 1 year and a half i decided to switch it to avast v5…why?simply because as good as norton is,i dont like the fact that its so silent…i mean its forum and its support in general cant even be compared to avast’s…norton is a good antivirus but its like having a souless thing in your system if you know what i mean…its always silent and same…i like having questions or even problems and being able to rely on a lively and helpful forum like this one.so despite the fact that my norton license hasnt expired yet(i had won 3 1-year serial keys in a promotion so it didnt cost me anything),i’m more than happy to try the avast free v5 at last!
:o you said good morning in greeklish(greek with english letters we use them in IM and facebook :S )
i’m happy to be back guys and just to let you know, even when i was using the norton av,i was visiting this forum to see whats new about avast, the news in general topics and even help guys who had a newbie question and i knew the answer even without avast installed…but now i’m full of avast…and christmas…and avast…
no it was a very good av actually(surprising that its from symantec).its very light and very effective but it costs too much and even their support is not free of charge.i would definitely recommend it as a paid av but its not for me.if u want i can give you the serial number i was using(it still has some months left) to evaluate it by yourself
Nah! I gave up Norton years ago when I found Avast ;D, since they keep asking for more money to renew my membership and glad to see some people are coming back to Avast ;D
i never left avast…i just won the norton licenses and i wanted to give it a try…its good but its not worth it if you think that avast is almost if not as good as norton av and its free…avast pro must be even better than norton av.
i was talking about detection rates/footprint…of course if u compare the price of each product along with the support it includes, then avast is much more better…
did u use norton 2010 or 2011 because these versions are very light i think as light as avast(haha i didnt say almost tech ) and at least in my system they ran smoothly…
