I don’t expect this comment to ever see the light of day, but feel that I must post it anyway. If asked to choose between Avast 5 free and MSE…no contest, MSE every time, Avast 5 is full of bugs, even after the Official release, and they don’t give a Damn because downloads are in the millions. Their policy seems to be that those of us with problems have only ourselves to blame because our Computers are outdated etc. I am really sorry that Avast 5 support have taken this path as they will loose support in the long term
Sorry to see you go.
I have no problems with avast! and MSE probably works better as it has less work to do.
" MSE probably works better as it has less work to do " Thanks for that comment YoKenny. The relevance to me is that " MSE probably works better " Is that not the way forward for Avast ? Less complicated settings and options, and less WORK TO DO ?
Just downloaded Avast 260 " This is the future " dated 2120, and it installs and configures itself with only 45,000 bug reports. V’s Great Grandson is reported to be well pleased with this release, and said that it compares very well to MSE, which only reported 44,000 bugs.
In another report, MicroHARD stated that they will come down like a ton of Clouds on anyone who downloads pirate copys of their OS " COPY THIS AND DIE FU***r " Futher developments will be reported as they emerge…
you said you were leaving @ 11.34 (GMT +1 ) didn’t you? bye ;D

Are MSE that great that he left Avast for it?? :-\ :-\
Regards!
lool there is two hypothesis!
Either he is joking because it was april’s day or he is not joking and decided so
MSE is ok, but to be honest, what can it go wrong there. It’s hardly anything there to go wrong really. It’s that minimalistic. And even that doesn’t work too well. On-access scanning is dreadfully slow on archives and SFX archives (why on earth they’re scanning that, i don’t know) and the updater which is honestly rather crappy. It updates fine when it does. And that’s once per 24 hours. That’s just lame.
Lack of customization.
Lack of updates. (Even not incremental?)
Lack of features.
Lack of detection (sometimes).
People are overestimating MSE imho.
We are off topic again… ;D
Somewhat, yes.
I would say there is little we can do the OP has made his choice now he has to live with it and we should just leave this topic to wither on the vine.

Iagree with this, M.S.E. is alright i suppose for a free av but i think avast has much better level of protection.Anyway be seeing you. ???
