A Gmail annoyance if using Internet Explorer.
For the past few weeks I and apparently many other folks who use IE and Gmail
have been getting the following message when they open their Gmail account:
“Your browser’s cache is full and may interfere with your experience. Fix this Hide”
The fix Google recommends does NOT work and the annoying message keeps returning.
The fix:
It turned out that if you have “Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk”
checked in the advanced section of Internet Explorer’s settings then
Gmail thinks your cache is always full.
To disable this setting, click on Tools…Internet Options… click on
the “Advanced” tab, scroll down to the Security section in that box and
make sure “Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk” is UNchecked.
Hi I have a small problem, I’ve seen all the emails about the fact that Gmail uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) etc…
but my problem is different I think :
Since I installed Avast, this one seems to scan my temporary Intenet files during many many minutes each time I attempt to connect to gmail, it seems that it’s trying to scan all the files of my gmail, it’s taking a very long time and thus I cann’t access to my mail… is their a possibility to avoid the scan of GMAIL.com?
I tried to put it as an exception in the scanned email adresses but it doesn’t work…
Is somebody had this problem or somebody could help me with that? thanks a lot!!!
Mich.
If the site is under HTTP, yes, you can add it to WebShield exceptions using wildcards.
But, if it is HTTPS avast won’t scan it and won’t help if you add it to exceptions. WebShield does not scan HTTPS.
Open WebShield settings, click Customize buttom and go to Exceptions tab of settings.
Welcome to the forum.
Since I currenty have 306 MB stored in my Gmail, I can assure you
that avast! doesn’t scan it or I would not be answering you but still waiting for a scan to finish.
So bob did you do something special for this "non scanning "?? because even when I enter the website of gmail as an exception it continues to scan…
Grrrrr…
