I am constantly getting this message with my Gmail account in Firefox “Oops… the system encountered a problem (#007) - Retrying”. If I turn all the Avast shields off the error goes away.
Does anyone have a fix. I am using Firefox 43.04, Google Apps, and Gmail both.
Try avast repair …
go and uninstall avast … on last popup box there is a option to repair
I tried the repair option but I still have the same issue and it seems to be on all the PC’s I use which is 5 between work and home. It does not seem to make a difference if it is the free or paid versions either.
I am about to give up and go to another antivirus product because this issue is having an effect on all my company users and we use Google Apps for our email, chat, and file sharing.
I realize this is not an immediate solution.
You could submit a support ticket if the direction offered does not resolve the issue.
Keep in mind response/resolution can take 7-10 Business day depending on the issue.

Does this only happen when you access your email via Firefox ???
Have tried Chrome or another browser to narrow down the problem ???
Try the following link to access gmail and see if that makes a difference:
https://mail.google.com/mail
Got the same problem here.
Error #007 by every action in gmail web.
-
added the address to whitelist
-
deactivated email signature
-
turned avast off and it helped for a few minutes
-
newest avast free
-
windows 7 64bit
-
newest firefox
I just found this issue after upgrading to latest avast version. I found out there are two ways to solve this issue:
- Uncheck “Enable Avast Email Signature” option in the General Settings.
or
- Uncheck “Enable HTTPS scanning” option in Web Shield Settings.
But I think solution no. 1 is better.
After changing the setting, disable and re-enable the web shield.
Same issue is reported in the Japanese forum. I advised him/her to follow sidball’s 1st solution.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Sidball! You have just made my life much easier.
Hello jeffh2,
Thank you for reporting this.
This is an issue with Avast email signatures.
Fix for the issue will be rolling out in following days with new Avast version (12.2). Please make sure, you update to this version.
In mean time you can turn off the email signatures in Settings > General > Enable Avast email signature
Sorry for the inconvenience,
Filip
Avast 12.2.2276 has just been released - https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189131.0
Sorry for posting on an old thread
just wanted to point out that this issue is happening again on firefox. I just had to disable the email signature option (after ages wasted on google forums searching for a decent answer!)
Gmail now works like a charm again.
No problem here:

Hi mmotorhead,

Thanks in advance,

Just got this error today.
Current Avast version 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.482.0).
Firefox 53.0.3. (32 bit)
I did uncheck the email signature and the error went away.
The email message isn’t protection and therefore not needed IMHO.
It certainly needs to be addressed since it’s causing problems.
