Gmail via Google Chrome

Hi all. I am unable to connect to my Gmail Inbox. I am getting a hang at the “Loading” page. I have attached a screenshot if that helps diagnose. Any suggestions on settings would be appreciated.

Yes, from the beginning of time. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Seems like a Mac problem and most of us are Windows users. When you disable Avast can you access Gmail? You dont need an av with a Mac anyways.

also notice you have alot of applications on your mac :o

I have tons of friends with Mac’s and they dont run any av.

yeah i am knw mac have their own firewall and AV built in and windows have MSE… so why not like Avast! which is more feature than MSE

Well, I think I eliminated Avast as a culprit. I disabled all Chrome Extensions, and it loaded up no problem! :-\ Not sure which one it was, but I’ll load 1 at a time to determine. I also will re-enable Avast Web Shield and Mail Shield to see if that impacts. If you don’t hear back from me - Avast is not at all an issue with my problem! Thanks for the responses!

Why do you have so many Chrome Add ons? I have 2. Thats its.

Because I use them? Is that a trick question? ::slight_smile:

The more add ons = more problems. Find it hard to believe that you use and need every single add on that you show.

Of course you don’t, that’s why avast made an AV for mac purely because it wasn’t necessary ::slight_smile:

For someone who has stated previously there a systems engineer for the past 15 years you certainly hand out a lot of poor advice :o

“ShermCraig” for future reference any question pertaining to mac’s would be better being posted in the mac section of the forum http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0 where you’ll probably find users who know of your issues

Its not poor advice. Its the truth.

No it’s definitely poor advice, Mac’ systems are increasingly becoming infected more and more as they become more popular so I would strongly suggest anyone using a mac to also use antivirus software these days.

1 in 5 Macs has malware on it. Does yours?

If you’re going to give out advice, please get your facts straight first.
Mac’s aren’t immune from infection and the more popular they become,
the more attacks become available.
