What about just adding http://www.google-analytics.com/* to AdBlockPlus items?

You can also block it in NoScript which is easier and it is specifically blocking scripts.

I used to block google-analytics on this forum as there were times when I always seemed to be waiting for google-analytics.com, but I took the view that the data for avast might be helpful to them. However on dial-up I may go back to blocking it.

I have just added http://.google-analytics.com/ to adblockplus to see how that works.
