Goodbye AVAST...

I’m sorry to say that after using AVAST for the past few months, I am changing to CAVS. I like everything about AVAST except for the fact that it always cut my internet connection (connection was reset, blah blah blah). Unfortunately, this just became too much of a hassle.

I will keep checking out this forum to see how things go and maybe I’ll be back.

Thanks for the great suggestions while I was here, greatly appreciated.

Sorry you it didn’t work out for you, I really can’t understand why the problem was there as it isn’t something that occurred much in the forums, I think yours was the only one of its typ I have seen since joining the forums.

Good Luck.

We always feel like a lose when we can’t help accordingly.
Anyway, you’ll always welcome back at any time 8)

Hello,

I just happened to check my Comodo firewall and discovered that svhost was somehow blocked. Could this have been the reason why my AVAST would not connect? Obviously I am a “0” when it comes to computer issues…

thanks

Could be. Most of connection problems are related to avast! HTTP scanning feature (Web Shield) and badly configured firewall…

Could be… but I never saw svchost asking for access started by avast ???

We have seen reports of svchost blocking by firewalls causing problems for avast in previous error reports (the one that comes to my mind was to do with avast automatic updates failing).

I’ve stop using Comodo after few days using it cause it has blocking me surfing the net even I’ve connected. So I’ve turn back to ZoneAlarm. The problem is causing by the firewall not avast! as I’ve experienced it. Can you confirm this one…

I just happened to check my Comodo firewall and discovered that svhost was somehow blocked.
Wether it’s svchost or just svhost…?

Good point… svhost could be a malware.
Talking about typos, what is wether?

It should be whether, like either or, is it or is isn’t it (svhost or scvhost)

Whether 1. Used in indirect questions to introduce one alternative: We should find out whether the museum is open. See Usage Notes at doubt, if. 2. Used to introduce alternative possibilities: Whether she wins or whether she loses, this is her last tournament. 3. Either: He passed the test, whether by skill or luck.

Sorry, my mistakes ;D It should be whether :stuck_out_tongue: Again, typos…

;D

For this reason I have never changed my lifetime stable (the lightest one) Firewall look’n’stop with phantom’s ruleset to the comodo. Best Regards.

I had major connection problems which were caused by Zonealarm, so I changed to Comodo and things were no better.

I’ve now been running Sunbelt Personal Firewall for 6 weeks with zero problems. I used to run it before (as Kerio) but suckered myself into being one of the masses with Zonealarm.

Sunbelt is way way better.
