I know I use Google a lot more than Yahoo.
That surprises me I would never have thought that it wasn’t already bigger than Yahoo. I know Yahoo has been around for longer, but Google has see huge growth.
I don’t ever use the Yahoo search, even before google came on the scene, I used a couple of search engines that compiled the results from several search engines. Like ixquick metasearch, dogpile and metacrawler.
It is a rare occation that I use Yahoo Search nor have I ever used it much. Most often it is Google through ScanDoo. I remember using Metacrawler and some other search engine in the distant past.
Bigger on what? Number of user, storage space, Nasdak?
on self-advertisement & agressive marketing it comes as a default search engine in Firefox, both Opera & Opera mini (excluding CIS edition of it), it even break through to my Mobile phone with it’s Gmail and Blogger services.
Halio avatar2005,
I am completely with you in this matter, one cannot avoid Google anymore, I have taken some measures inside Firefox 3.0 RC1 to make it a bit harder for them to sell my profile and my clicking patterns - what they do anyway, also their toolbar comes with all sorts of software included now. Scroogle is a nice alternative > http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm < , Stealther add-on also a thing to remember, as is TrackMeNot (to give them back crap results, a kind of search results braatolizer), ABP and NoScript should also be installed. If you browse with a vidalia Tor browser with NoScript installed, then Google won’t give you any search result and launches a CAPTCHA prompt, because they think you are a robot, the best proof of the game they are into, but they win because they are sitting on the biggest pile of information.
pozdrawiam,
Damian
I for one am glad it’s available.
I use every free part of it when ever possible.
Hi bob3160,
That is why it is the biggest, and to Google has become a synonym for to search. Don’t you think I do not use it, only on my terms whenever that is possible. And I also like the other sides of Google. I like to use their translation services as a chained-proxy, best there is and secure. And while avast works with Google,
yahoo and McAfee SiteAdvisor have sided up,

Now that you mention it, Polonus, I have used Scroogle before and would use it more often if it worked with ScanDoo.
I have scroogle set up in firefox as one of my list of search engines. However, every time I try it again, I think how ugly it looks and go back to plain of google it can collect my search strings till the cows come home (sorry for the pun polonus, I know you like cows but not necessarily google ;D).
