Hello to one and all ,
when I run a scan with secunia osi scan while using chrome the results are usually ok . ie update google chrome but when I run the same scan with IE 8 the results are always different,ie update ccleaner and itunes ??
Has anybody come across this or am I just being paranoid ??

I can’t speak for the others but I have found that using the update button on each software does just as well. As for you, you can always try it as it is not something bad.
Most programs are checked to automatically update when they feel ready to do so, even windows update manually would be quicker then when they tell you on automatic.
I personally have uncheck automatically update in programs & prefer to check myself.
Like ccleaner bottom right check for updates but like said ccleaner will be checked for automatic updates by default.
It could be a glitch in Secunia, don’t get to paranoid…
I too like manual updates. Software that checks automatically makes me feel out of control.
For the average computer user, an automatic update is the better choice when it’s available.
Without automatic updates, the end result is usually no updates. Unfortunate but true.
