Hi, I’ve been using avast for several years without any problem at all and having Firefox as my default browser. But today, I started using Google Chrome and after 5 hours of use of Google Chrome [set as default browser] and I just found out that avast will not automatically run when I restarted my pc. And I cannot even see the avast icon on my system tray after I manually run it! I’m not sure, but is it working in the background while I’m on the net surfing? Please let me know. Because I’m worried, I keep on clicking the avast icon but everytime i close it, it disappears from the tray icon. Unlike before, it’s always on there and I never touch at all. Just worried!!! 
Sorry guys but problem solved!!!
I just uninstalled Google Chrome and set Firefox as my default browser again!
But just wondering why Chrome and avast are not compatible???

They are totally compatible. It’s been my default browser for years.
avast! is compatible with all browsers.
If you want to try installing Chrome again, got to:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/?&brand=CHMB
If you install Chrome and set it as your default Browser look at the following setting in avast!:
