Google Chrome Problem

I use a registered version of Avast and love it! However, since the last upgrade a couple of days ago everytime I try to open Google Chrome I get the following error message and was wondering if there is a connection between the two. after reading at Google they showed the same problem if you used a Symantic virus program. I am running Windows 7 and the latest version of Avast. here is the error message, thanks any help appreciated.
The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000135). Click OK to close the application

Which was your old antivirus before avast?
Do you have any firewall?

what version of Chrome? doesn’t make sense but try to launch it in compatibility mode (Vista SP2), and/or disable UAC…I don’t think there’s any connection with Avast. If you want to make sure disable Avast shields: WebShield first but I don’t think that will change anything. If I was you I would uninstall/reinstall Chrome + new profile (backup bookmarks etc…first).

I have not any virus protection other than Avast on this machine. The Google Chrome version is 4.6 and I am runing the Avast firewall. Thanks
