Google Drive credentials invalid

I use Avast mobile backup on two android devices. Until today they functioned fine, seamlessly and automatically. No backup problems. Today both fail to backup with same error.

I am prompted that Google Drive is not configured. “Tap to set up google drive”. I tap.

“Your Google Drive credentials are invalid. This can happen because Google sometimes invalidates access tokens for security reasons. Do you want to reconfigure your Google Drive access credentials now? Yes or No?”

I tap yes.

I am invited to choose an account. I choose an account. Then OK

“Your Google Drive account was not enabled. An unknown error occurred.”

I have no problems logging into my Google Drive account from a Windows PC, using the same account as above.

I don’t think that storage space is a problem. I have used 3.7 Gb of 15 Gb

Suggestions? Reinstall Avast, perhaps?

Hi, does this problem still persist?

I had many problems with backing up.

Kept getting notifications saying Drive Folder could not be found, invalid credentials and error connecting to server.

I disabled and reconfigured through Avast’s web portal and on app, as well as uninstalled multiple times.

What seemed to have worked for me is turning off Google’s 2-Step Verification. I think for me (and possibly others), there was some type of connection issue when having Google’s 2-Step verification enabled.

After turning that off 2-Step I:
-disabled GDrive through Avast’s web portal
-uninstalled and reinstalled app
-reconfigured everything.

Haven’t had a notice or error since.

How do you turn off the 2-step verification?
