It really bothers me that Avast is associated with Google. Google has been fined millions of dollars in several countries for privacy violations. Avast is supposed to be protecting the privacy of its customers, so why would it be involved with a company with just the opposite goals?
Unfortunately, I was not surprised. I put forth the thought some months or more back in a post around here that I thought Google was going to buy this company. That was before the opt-out feature started for Google Drive. I think there is a third Google service/tool also offered in an opt-out manner when people use an Avast product. Of course, Chrome was the first.
But you are right that it is rather disturbing for some people to think of Google having so much control over this company now that their own documents such as that “Google Policies and Principles” are now what we are shown when we click on “Privacy and Terms” on an Avast support page.
And please let it be noted that I wrote “for some people”.
So do any of our volunteer staff or employees know why we see that Google page when we are submitting a ticket and want to see Avast Privacy and Terms?
I obviously do not know what sort of fix was posted about above, but at 0535UTC the issue, if it is an issue for us in Japan, – the issue still remains.
I used the same link and followed the same path as I posted in #2 under “Another edit”.

Timestamp on the image attached is JST.
EDIT: For those that wish to have all the details, the difference in images grabbed between the ones above in post #2 – this unit runs an English OS, while the images above were done on another machine with the OS in Japanese. I address that to anyone wishing to state I am into another “conspiracy” BS and the different images show I am creating these from my imagination. I haven’t seen a collaborating post, yet. Except the one stating something was fixed might be an indication that the member saw something wrong. Well, by “collaborating” I mean we only see my imges as proof that this event is happening.
You click on the link and then follow a path that leads to where you input information into what the tag calls a “RenderForm” (submitting a ticket) and then you will see the little blue link down below labeled “Privacy & Terms” and that is where I find a Google page is shown.
I haven’t checked the other paths. The only path I am sure of to get what is necessary was the first one I used when I first saw that and that I’ve posted above, but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to put it here, again.
As you go from box to box it will be highlighted by an orange colour.

SpeedyPC, the State of California has some of the strictest Net laws on stalking in the world. Japan, where I live also has very strict Net law on stalking. I have reported your last stalking post to a moderator. After I have been informed of what this company’s moderator’s actions will be in this latest case, if any of your group dos this stalking routimne again I will consider all options.
I’m getting about fed up with the members of that special going around this forum and shooting nasty arrows at me and nobody in this company wants to do anything about it. When people get fed up they normally turn to civil courts if a criminal court system sees no need for prosecution. But a determination of whether prosecution of a company is required is determined by an attorney general’s office and I don’t think this company would much like that sort of bad publicity.
Quite frigging stalking me! All of you!!
It’s interesting to note that in repressive regimes as is noted in that Wiki article about the founders of Alwill – in a repressive regime they use gangs of thugs to do things for the regime. That’s what it feels like here. Gangs of thugs going around and attacking certain members that don’t conform to the thugs’ views and the gang of thugs even turning a blind eye to attacks from wannabes within the regular member group. This kind of thuggery is common on forums all over the Net. And here it is extremely blatant.
Thank you Charyb, but where in that Google page do you see that it indicates the Privacy & Terms requested by clicking on that link are only for the Captcha tool?
Do you think that I am the only one that could mistake that Privacy & Terms link as being for the entire page? I ask that because if I think that Privacy & Terms link is for the entire page then why would I think that I needed to study anything? You see, it is not as severe as SpeedyPC putting an ass image at me in his post, but your snide remark about homework is not very polite. And the idea of me being into conspiracies here also originated with a member of your group. It’s a group behaviour you all are engaging in. You all can deny it all you want, but it’s obvious that your group wishes for me to stay away from here and it’s not because I have violated the ToS here.
And what might that it’s fixed post be about by the reseller?
Yes, that’s the bottom of the page that I was seeing and did the screenshots of with some of that Google page. And Charyb is correct that I didn’t identify the Google page as related to that captcha tool. There is nothing on any part of that Google page which has the word captcha. I assume that Google owns that tool. Well, I’m not even sure about that.
