google search URL:mal detection

Earlier today I visited some website after google:ing “advanced map download”, and avast threw a “URL:mal” warning. As I was pretty sure that this was simply a false positiv, I reinstalled avast. Now every time I google “advanced map download” in any way (those words can be mixed, but it must only be those 3, no more or less) it throws a URL:mal warning, despite not pressing any of the listings. The warning adresses something that looks like an IP adress, but I’m not sure.

Malwarebytes and Avast shows no threats detected, but the guys in the general forum suggested I go here anyways, as this seems to be rather odd.

Now my computer just gave me a message saying something like: “Oops, an error just occured. text… text… text, a big :(” and then it restarted. Is this normal behaviour after running that FRST thing?

Was it windows giving that text ? As it does not sound like a normal windows report.

The screenshot I had was from clicking one of the links on a google search. So I would assess it is not on your system

Yes, it appeared to be windows. It didn’t say exactly “oops, an error just occurred”, but it said something similar to that in swedish. It also provided a link where I could read more, and ended with a big “: (”.

No further problems have occured, but I’ve never had a random restart before, so I’m still a bit worried.

It may have been as FRST was finalising the fix. If it was a one off I would ignore it

One more step.

Pls wait until essexboy provides you with the cleanup tools and gives the all clear, which he will. Glad you got your issue fixed. Not getting it fixed now could have exacerbated the original problems and become worse.

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove tools

Download and run Delfix
Select the options as shown
