Any of the forum members got an easy solution I could use to remove the Google "Everthing " sidebar ? I am using I.E 7 and have wasted hrs trying system restore , altering settings and asking other family members if they had changed anything , only to later find many other irate users with this problem on the web. Thank you .
forget system restore : that’s a Google feature, if it can’t be turned off through Google search settings, then it can’t be turned off
IE8 is much better and safer than IE7.
Is the Google toolbar in Tools then Manage Add-ons?
Thanks for reply , I found that out after trying a few restore points last night .

he’s not talking about anything in the Google toolbar, but about the new side bar in Google search…
Tried I.E 8 when it came out and preferred I.E 7 . You don’t have any option to disable this function . Plenty of people on the web going crazy about it being enforced on users .
Correct , sorry if given wrong info .
Use Scroogle scraper:
http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm
I would rather put up with this than use scroogle scraper the look is absolutely terrible, and I’m normally not one to care about aesthetics over function but this makes me sick.
Thanks to all for help . If I come across solution , I’ll get back to forum .
Toolbars are actually useless!
I learned never to use them because installing is easy and removal is tough in some cases
It isn’t a toolbar, read the topic and essentially look at the image provided by Logos in Reply #4.

I’m not sure this link will work forever, as they’ll probably get rid of the old interface once the new one gets implemented everywhere. I’ve had the new interface off and on, they’ve been testing during months, so I wonder why people didn’t shout before the final implementation yesterday ;D
…not even mentioning that the new interface is an improvement imo, but people need to shout when anything changes :
and hey, there’s more to come, I’ve seen a new interface for the news too, and that’s in the same style ;D
This is another good link on this very hot subject, http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Web%20Search/thread?tid=67f6459e09a827ee&hl=en it has a number of other related topics in wait for it the ‘Right hand’ side bar.
So now we have one really long thin middle column with the results in that topic ironic ;D
This by all accounts stems from the iGoogle or personalised google interface, so leave these who don’t use iGoogle alone.
I came to google many years ago as it was a breath of fresh, clean air with an uncluttered look and feel. I don’t doubt that this was why many others used google when it first came out, before it became a by word for search ‘google it.’
They have shot themselves in the foot here.
I like Tempest in a teapot discussions. ;D

this new interface is fantastic, and I’m really upset with people’s reactions : I guess I should get used to it, it’s always the same when changes occur, the old one was always better : …as you may have noticed in my posts here, I’m far from being a philanthropist, and every time something like that happen, how the majority reacts to new good stuff (I insist on “good”, the new interface is just brilliant), I know why I’m not…a philanthropist ;D
ps: I’ve been there when Vista came out, been there too when KDE 4 in Linux came out etc… :
