Got hijacked by Vosteran

I’m using the Internet Security version of Avast.

I took a risk on downloading some software and got hijacked by something called Vosteran. So, I went out to the web to see how to get rid of it and ended up downloading a security program called Spy Hunter (SH). SH scanned my computer and, besides Vosteran, found all kinds of spyware cookies and such. Of course, in order to clean this up I have to purchase their full program version, which I would rather not do. Will Avast take care of these things for me? Vosteran is new today, but the other spyware stuff SH found has been there awhile, so Avast hasn’t been taking care of it so far.

Attach your basic logs. (MBAM, FRST and aswMBR…!!)

For cookie removal you can use Super AntiSpyware Free
Another great addition is MalwareBytes Anti-Malware also known as MBAM.

Cookies aren’t spyware or dangerous and can easily be removed with tools like CCleaner.

You can also set your browser to delete cookies when closed

John, you did not post your logs as @Asyn requested for one of the Virus experts to help you out.
I highly recommend you do this so an expert can look and provide expert advice.

Once you post the logs while you wait for Expert to review and provide guidance here is also some reading.
I recommend you WAIT for the advice…I only provide as some background.
