Is it possible to activate the GPS automaticle in Android 4.0.x ?
Yes, if you’re mobile could be rooted, have GPS and has the automatic enable function available.

Well… without root, the telephone is the thief hands. If he/she is a pro, well, you have very few time to do anything.
But, I have not tested yet, but I think you can enable the GPS even if your phone is not rooted (useful in cases of lost and not stolen).

to get the right information, you would need to post this question into the Anti-Theft part of the forum, but as far as I know from the guys there, the GPS can’t be remotely enabled on non-rooted Android OS versions 2.3.x where x is a number I can’t remember right now So I suppose it won’t be available on 4.x as well, sorry.

Filip you’re right, Google disabled the APIs to do so in 2.3.3
