Re Build 2015:
What does that even mean, “ïncorrectly”?
I never saw it “offered” at any time.
As I chose Custom Install I could see it listed. I didn’t uncheck it. Other occasions I have not chosen Custom Install, so can’t comment further.
Now, for the first time, I see Grimefighter is installed - on Win 8.1.

Reverted to clean install of 2015 (for other reasons)… Grimefighter is “offered” in Tools section. Not sure I like the “Optimize my PC” thing - any time I see it! Specially not the blanket, non-selective, approach it seems present.
Anyway, I ain’t buying.
There have been many comments by users concerned about what is being cleaned/altered/modified/Removed.
No real useable information is offered before or after processing. :-\
Clean install of 2016 still shows Grimefighter ‘installed’ in Tools section.
After that, it’s wait and see. I guess…
Grimefighter got on my PC after I updated avast through the UI. So I went to add/remove programs in Windows control panel and modified the avast installation to remove Grimefighter. From now on I download/run the full installer and uncheck any tools I don’t want to be installed.
Same thing happened to me & it shouldn’t. Why should I be looking over my shoulder every time I go to update my AV? Time is valuable & why should you have to waste it by running the full installer every time you want to update? The program is streamlined to provide ease of updating for the user but he/she has no idea what other junk is getting installed, something is broken here…so I guess when it comes time to renew it will be time to be free of this nonsense. :
Now they will probably also move this thread to the dump out of sight with the other one about grimefighter that was on topic, seems they don’t respond well to honest criticism here… :o
I’m using the free version, so I’m willing to deal with it. I can understand AV having a hard time making money since Windows now includes built-in (albeit crappy) malware protections these days.
