I’ve used Guitar Rig 5 and Avast Free together for years without any issues at all. After recent Avast updates my Guitar Rig software has no audio output. At first I was able to get round it by temporarily disabling the Avast shield control, which would allow the software to work correctly. But after the last few days (and I suspect another update), I get no audio output at all. I also notice when I start the software that the system tray icon for the ASIO driver changes from green to red, giving warning that something isn’t right.
If I uninstall Avast then Guitar Rig and the ASIO driver work normally.
Has anybody got an suggestions or ideas ?
What a motherfucking waste of time this was.
Hi scudger99,
No reason to get annoyed, it has our full attention.
Could have been a FP, just report to avast: The default location depends on your OS:
Vista, Win7 - C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report
Nothing here: https://www.virustotal.com/pl/url/5aede69a2251796d885f3610b7fbbfa29f0f1c97bc8d9566a14a27088a8d7609/analysis/1496872116/
Can you update your to VT and give us the results.

Leep in mind that almost every helper here is a volunteer.
And with the amount of posts from people who like to get help/support, it can be one is overlooked.
Anyway, the problem is solved already (or at least should) as you can see in other threads people have posted about the same issue.
