Is there an Avast product to correct this situation? Calls and text messages being intercepted. Is it possible to detect the source of action>
Avast has Avast Mobile Security http://www.avast.com/free-mobile-security, which is an AV for mobile phones. MBAM (Malwarebytes) is also available for Androids; I’m not sure if it will work on BB’s.
Do you currently have an AV on your phone? If so, you would need to uninstall it first per the instructions of that vendor prior to installing Avast.
My other question to you is do you have any apps. on your phone giving permission to any of the privacy issues you mentioned? Many apps. will do this, however there are AV’s and apps. that you can get preventing apps. from using these permissions. Set your browser(s) to the highest security settings, and always clear cache and cookies when done. Use a cleaner to clean your call log as well or manually do it.
If the above doesn’t work, I would suggest you bring it to your mobile phone company, change the SIM card in case you were cloned, look at your bill online (even if it didn’t come out yet to see if calls/texts were made by someone other than you) and alert your phone company. If you have other personal information on your phone, you may want to consider yourself a victim of ID Theft and change your phone number and alert others (if your phone is associated with your bank or credit card for example or financial Contacts). I keep my phone in an RFID case and use an AV with an anti-theft feature for these reasons and prevent apps certain permissions. It’s very easy to steal information these days, so you can never be too careful.
