Hallmark.com Virus

Did anyone recieved an Ecard greeting from Hallmark.com? It’s a virus and my avast! detected it and stated as “suspicious message”. Right now, avast! is scanning it and keep popping up million times like this message below:

There are too many identical e-mails in appointed time

Sender: “greetingcards.comtpbxk@wozzor.com
Recipient: guests@saatchi-gallery.co.uk
Subject: You’ve received a greeting card from a Neighbour!

It asked me to press either “continue” or “don’t send”. There’s a delete button, but it won’t let me press it. It’s driving me nuts and I need someone here to help me by telling me what should I do?

If it is asking you, Don’t send or Continue, you are infected (don’t send) by an undetected trojan spambot, sending emails with a link to a supposed ecard that when visited will infect your system.

I suggest you modify (obfuscate) any email addresses in your post to protect and live addresses. e.g. xxx @ xxx.co.uk, etc.

What is your firewall ?

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it, preferably in safe mode.

 1. If using winXP AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido). Or SUPERantispyware Or Spyware Terminator. Or a-Squared free if using win98/ME.
