Hanna

well my INTERNET friends we have a hurricane coming to north Carolina and it is Hanna.NOAA is predicting the eye to come ashore near Jacksonville, NC late tomorrow night. Jacksonville is about 75 miles south of me so i am sure we will get a lot of rain and wind from it. hurricane force winds and rain usually extend a 100 to 150 out from the eye and the none hurricane force winds can go even farther out from the center.it seams that these storms always come at night when you can’t see what is happening :frowning:

To everyone in NC, I appreciate you absorbing the impact of Hanna before she gets to where I am. ;D

Seriously, I pray there is no loss of life or injuries to anyone in NC. I hope the property damage will be minimal.

Actually its a Tropical Storm. And a very disorganized storm at that. Main threat will be rain, much needed rain due to the drought here in NC.

Hanna’s eye is about 240 miles from Wilmington , NC the winds are 70 mph with gust up to 80 mph this was the 5:00 report. it is moving north west at 20 mph and they are saying that the worst part of it will be from I95 back east so it will cover all of eastern north Carolina. i am about 45 miles east of I95 and all of eastern , NC is under a tornado watch until 5:00 AM. :frowning:

Hanna wasn’t as bad as we though it would be i just had one shingle to bow up.i have seen a few tree limbs down but not to many of them i am sure Hanna was worst on the coast but in my area we came out good.on todays map it looks like Ike is going to the gulf coast Texas area they just had a hurricane in the gulf coast they don’t need more.

I live near the coast in southeastern NC and it was more or less like a bad thunderstorm without the lightning.

There was me thinking you lived on that island in your avatar CharleyO ;D

I wish I could afford an island like that!
