Hard drive not showing in bios Tecra r700

Couldn’t get into safe mode only boot manager. So called Toshiba who said need new hard drive and to take it to authorized repair. Repair phoned to ask did I need to retrieve info from drive. No. They phoned last night to say it wasn’t the hard drive but my Avast free which they replaced with something else. Does this seem reasonable?

What do you mean with “boot manager” ?

The boot menu I tap f8 at start on win7.

Scroll down to “If you cannot Boot the computer” and attach the logs to your next post please.

The nb is still at the repair shop; I don’t want to sign off on it before I know that the hard drive didn’t fail.

If you still can get into the boot menu, it means the drive is recognized by the bios.

There is nothing we can help you with if you haven’t got the system.
