I’ve installed Avast Free on Windows 10 and I would like to know if Windows Defender has been disabled: I still have its icon in the notification area, and in Windows Defender Security Center eveything is active (real time, cloud…) but in Security and Maintenance I have Avast for the virus protection.

That’s what I meant with Security and Maintenance. I have the same as you:

  • Windows Firewall : On
  • Virus Protection - Avast: On
  • Internet security: OK

You’re find. Defender turns itself off when you install Avast.
You should also check here were you can use Defender to occasionally
check your system for vulnerabilities.
You’ll notice, I keep this turned OFF. :slight_smile:
