Hats Off To Avast

Have done trials with the following recently
Bitdefender
Avira Premium
Kaspersky Internet Security
AVG

but, I have returned.
Having tried all these alternatives, there is something about Avast that draws me back each time. I am convinced that Avast offers the best all round range of features - presented in a logical intuitive way - a program that does the job it was designed to do effortlessly.
I have not suffered all the pains that others have, possibly because I ensure my PC is completely clean of any AV program before I install a new one
Well done to all at Avast - a big thankyou from me

Welcome back. 8)

Hi Purgatory,

Nice you have regained something we knew for a couple of years now,

polonus

Welcome aboard.

Welcome back… Is there anything that we can learn from the competition? Do you miss any feature?

I’ve also recently returned to Avast - I uninstalled the first release of Avast 7 and had been using MSE in the interim. Ultimately MSE seemed to offer too little protection for too much resource usage and I was prepared to give the .1426 release of Avast a go. I’m again now a happy Avast user but the problems that caused me to uninstall weren’t a consequence of remnants of other AVs, they were down to a dodgy and probably over-hasty release of Avast 7. Now that they’re back on track I’d also like to extend my thanks to Avast for an excellent product but PLEASE be careful to fully test any future program updates fully before they’re released.

Haha, its not just u being affected by this…it even me i think of moving to something else and something forces me and gives me the belief avast is better

I have been using avast since version 4. Unfortunatelly I will need to set aside avast at version 7. To many bugs and no recent update to the latest version (1426) which has issues. Note that avast definitely has problems with motherboards that utilize the NVIDIA NFORCE chipset. I have tested and confirmed this on multiple PC’s.

I hope to come back some day, but for now Vipre tests out pretty well against Avast. That is what I will run until Avast works out the problems with version 7.

I always come back after checking the competition but certainly don’t have any issues with Avast 7.

And what exactly happens on those chipsets?

I wondered that as I have NForce chipsets here … what are these problems, which version/s of nVidia ?

Would like to second this. Have been trying different antivirus products but decided to come back to Avast. Simply brilliant. Thanks guys
