It is pretty bareboned. I am installing Avast! and Spybot search and destroy and ccleaner…I may try the comodo firewall too
this seems to be a good combination of security software
just make sure that no preinstalled antiviruses (like norton) are left!

So, good luck
only thing it came with was a 60 day trial of pcillin, and outdated microsoft things. I bought the student and teacher edition so im set to go:)
You should uninstall pcillin and reboot before you install avast.
Thanks David, I did uninstall Pcillin…but i have a question…I have from when the pc 1st came on: microsoft office small business connectivity component, microsoft sql server 2005, microsoft sql server native client, microsoft sql server setup support files and microsoft sql server vss writer. My question is are these trials from microsoft and when I activate the microsoft home and student i got, can those other microsoft things go away?
Matt
You’re welcome.
They could possibly be associated with MS Office as it might be used by MS Access. Other than that I don’t really know as I have stuck with my old version of MS Office ‘97’ Small Business Edition, but that didn’t have Access.
