Hi…I’m a Premier subscriber and right now I’m really getting frustrated! I loved Avast at first and really love the Safe Zone Browser. Now I have a new computer, running Windows 10. My version of Safe Zone Browser is 3.55.2393.596
I see people talking about uninstalling…which when I look at the instructions I’m not going there. I know minimal things to do on a computer.
Then I saw I could go into control panel, and go into my programs and hit repair…but repair isn’t one of the choices…uninstall and change are the only choices listed.
HELP! Please! I can’t keep wasting hours a day reinstalling Safe Browser over and over again…
;D OMG! I think it might have worked!!! I did as you said and it brought me to Avast to repair. As I watched I saw my desktop icon come back! I hope it stays now! Thank you so much! That was the fastest way to get it back! I have spent HOURS reinstalling it just to watch it disappear right in front of my eyes…
Now don’t take this the wrong way…but I hope I don’t have to talk to you again…because if I do that means it happened again… :-.
It’s funny some people complain that they can’t get rid of safezone and I’m complaining I can’t get to keep it…

Well I’m back which means the repair fix didn’t work. The browser stayed longer, but when I turned the computer on this morning it disappeared again.
I tried the repair again. I even went under modify and saw that the browser wasn’t checked off so I checked it and still nothing. I did the repair again and it worked. But I loose all my settings and bookmarks in the browser and have to start new.
My husband has the free avast on his computer and has no problems. I pay for avast and all it does is aggravate me! No more paying after this subscription! I wonder now if my computer is actually safe or is it just false security of thinking it is.
I am so disappointed with AVAST! >:( and I was such a big fan…
The avast SafeZone browser has nothing to with the version of avast you have installed.
Every “home user” version has the option to install it or not.
It also has nothing to do with the security of your system.
The “av” part of avast is handling that.
What Os/SP are you using ?
If it is Windows 10, are you using sleepmode and/or fastboot ?
Is there any “rollback” software installed ?
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
This computer is one week old today. It has Windows 10 on it. It never had any other virus protection on it.
I don’t have it on sleep mode and I don’t know what fastboot is…where can I see of that is set up?
I’m pretty much right out of the box…nothing added except Office.
Being my husband has the free avast version and has no problem with the browser I looked up what his settings are. He doesn’t have avast as his default. So the next time it happens I’m thinking I won’t make it the default but just switch over to it…IF it is there.
If I need to go under control panel and check what the default setting is what is the exact address that should be listed for the safe zone browser?

…no this computer didn’t come with anything preinstalled like McAfee or BNorton. They had another av they were trying to sell me but I told them I just purchased my av from someone else (avast) before my old computer died. So there isn’t anything on it.
I’m afraid to say it because I don;t want to jinx it…I THINK I found the problem…I shouldn’t make Avast Safe Zone my default browser in the website settings…and if I don’t it stays installed…I can live with that…it shouldn’t be that way, but at least I can still use it…hopefully it will continue to work. Thanks again…if it goes south I’ll let you know.
I also Have a brand new computer, it is running Windows 10 Creators Version (official, not beta) I have had Avast SafeZone uninstall itself multiple times. The computer does go into sleep mode by default at times. Avast is not my primary browser, Chrome is. There is no other AnitVirus software running except AVAST. What other steps can be tried to stop this undesirable behavior?
