In January 2014 I went through a short period where a fresh Avast software update had stopped paying attention to the settings I chose in its UI. It was as though the settings database format had changed but not all the components had gotten the memo.
Upon receiving some good advice here on the forum I used the Avast cleaner application to fully uninstall the product, then reinstalled the latest version afresh. Other than a few false positives I’ve had zero problems with the product since that reinstallation.
I was just wondering how many others have had to go through a reinstallation of version 2014.9.0.
Because not every forum post is a “please help me I’m lost” request. I genuinely want to know. It might even help me/us help others. Bob correctly pointed to the thread that gave me the idea to post it.
But importantly: What’s it to you why I asked? My motives don’t need to be obvious or explained to you or anyone else for me to participate in this forum.
