Hi,
We have been having some problems with the forum so I will return as quick as I can with your next set of instructions.
Hi,
Let’s do this…
Do you have your Windows 7 CD or can you borrow one from a friend? If so, get it out as we may need this during the following steps:
[*]Click on Start, type cmd in the Start Search bar.
[*]Right click on Command Prompt at the top of the window and select Run as Administrator.
[*]In the Command Prompt Window, type (or copy and paste) sfc /scannow and press Enter.
The scan may take some time, so be patient. Windows will repair any corrupted or missing files that it finds. If information from the installation CD is needed to repair the problem, you may be prompted to insert your Windows 7 CD.
After you run System File Checker, try to run Windows Update.
Let me know how that works.
Nope… It said 100% okay… but update gives the same “Kode 800700E” (unknown error) (Kode is the danish form of Code ).
Hi,
Try running the Fix It button found here >> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941 Let me know if that fixes your problem.
Nope…
Hi,
I noticed that you gave two Error message numbers. Are you actually receiving two different error messages or just one. If it is just one which is the correct one?
Sorry… I only get one error-code: 8007007E.
Hi,
Go to the page here >> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=20858 and then download the tool. If asked if you want to run the tool please select Run. Once it is complete try to continue with your Windows Update and see if that helped.
No, still no luck…
Hi,
Just so I can verify…are you having any other malware related problems?
Not that I’m aware of… But on the other hand, I wasn’t aware of this problem…
Hi,
Ok…I think this may be a software problem rather than malware. I think you would be better served by going to Geeks to Go and have some of their techs look at this problem. You will need to just create an account there (which is free) so that you will be able to start a new topic. Once you create your account start a new topic here >> http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/forum/79-windows-vista-and-windows-7/ Explain your problem with getting the update to download as well as be sure to give them the link here so that they can see what we have done as well.
Once complete there, come back and we will clean up our tools and get you on your way.
