Having Trouble Renewing Subscription

I keep getting the “your subscription will expire in 15 days” message. I click on the pop window to renew. I then click on the "I have a subscription key link. I don’t have the original email from Avast with the key # number but I typed it into notepad. I cut and paste but it does not recognize that number and then it will not allow me to change anything. When I cancel that the screen disappears and I have to wait until the next day for the window to pop.

Any suggestions on how to get my subscription renewed would be appreciated. I tried registering again on the Avast website and the email it said I would get never arrived. I do not have any spam filters turned on.

I presume this is for the home version?
It seems that the registration system has been a little troublesome at the moment…

Also, what browser do you use? Chrome (or the variants) seem to have issues with the page at the moment…

If that doesn’t work, it may be an idea to try another email address, as some ISPs have been blocking mail from avast! at the moment…GMail often works well.

Thanks Scott. This is for the Home Edition. I have tried registering again but I never get the email. My wife is having the same issue on her computer. I have IE 6 as my default browser but I also use Firefox some. My wife uses IE8.

I have just tried the registration in Firefox 3.5.7 and I received the email within 20 seconds…

As I said, GMail works well, I have seen a couple of threads where some ISPs block it without informing the user and using webmail, like gmail, has worked. So it may be worth trying it…

I just tried using Yahoo mail and I got the new key with seconds. I inserted the new key and all is well. I will now go fix my wife’s puter now.

New issue - I try to register on my wife’s computer and after clicking on the link “my subscription has expired” I get a “Thank you for registering” page and saying the key has been sent to her email addy which will never show up. How can I clear this to let her register again. I am guessing she is gettting auto logged in to the Avast site but I can figure how to log her out and re-register.

Hi Rickochet,

As long as it is the home version you are using, you can use the same key for both the computers. This should save you the trouble with the site, which is quite weird…I can’t see why clicking that link would cause it to act as if everything is filled in and registered.

I went into the Avast homepage and got to the re-registration page in Firefox and got a new key sent to her yahoo addy so all is fixed.
