I renewed my avast early to receive the 30% discount in July. Since then everyday a window would pop-up saying my avast subscription has run out I would put the license key in and it would be accepted. If I go on to the windows security screen my fire wall is on but I do not have virus protection. If I click on the avast blue ball It looks like it’s all working correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I am not a computer genius.
Thanks
Heather
Try avast repair
For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
come back and tell us if it worked…
So what is the WSC saying out of date or not running ?
If out of date, ensure that your system date, day/month/year are correct and adjust as required.
If not running:
- What avast processes are running in Task Manager, they begin with ash or asw, see image ?
The WSC can be a bit flaky at times, try this.
- WSC doesn’t detect avast! - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/help/wmi.mspx#EQKAC
If you are running Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or 3 you can use a single command to detect and repair a corrupted WMI Repository. Start, Run, type cmd and click OK from the command prompt type ‘rundll32 wbemupgd, RepairWMISetup’ without the quotes and enter.
