HDD crash - what about the license after the crash

Hi everybody

My son’s laptop Toshiba has been bearing til then a license of AVAST Pro AV since its purchase 8 months ago.
The laptop has screwed up lately and is past recovery. We have to tough up the risk of re-formatting completely the HDD since no rescue disks turned out handy.
When re-formatting, we will be scratching AVAST along with all programs without resorting to a normal “Uninstall” - there is no mistaking it. As I will attempt to re-install the license upon a new computer, we may surmise beforehand that AVAST supervisor will be thinking that we are trying to set an extra out-of-bounds license (my license is fit for 3 PC - all three are occupied including “late Toshiba”).
What may I do to make AVAST supervisor understand that one license out of three has been reduced to naught by a formatting ?
Regards

Delete the Toshiba from your avast account (https://my.avast.com) and add the new system.

Thank a lot - new laptop is at home to-night

Regards

HG
