Is avast capable of cleaning the Heartbleed virus. I’ve seen messages about this virus on the net and I’m getting messages from vendors about actions to take to secure our servers.
There is no such thing.
Heartbleed is a vulnerability of OpenSSL. There is nothing to clean.

No it is not a virus, it is a bugfix created inside OpenSSL (probably originally aplied in Germany) that could be exploited as a backdoor to leak information.
Avast cannot do much. Servers should be patched. Users, especially those on Yahoo are well advised to change all their passwords.
So what you can do as a common user is change your password and ask your bank for instance to issue a new bank card
and hope that surveillance has not paid you a visit over the last couple of months when that particular hole was known.
Do not panic, we are all in this together. ;D

Thanks for the information.
