Hi there,
I wonder if Avast has this Heartbleed thing under control?
What can we do to ensure we are protected?
Is the Avast site affected?
Thanks.

Avast should not be affected.
Heartbleed is an issue with OpenSSL, so the website and server owners need to update or patch it.
Also all (home)routers need to be updated.
The need to update routers is a bit overrated, they are only vulnerable if you happen to have your router web interface facing the web, you are not at danger if the router isn’t accessible from the web and you trust that the users in your LAN won’t try to steal the router password.
Maybe if we understand it better we can make better judgements. A simply explanation of how heartbleed works: http://xkcd.com/1354/
